Egyptian Dance
Called the "Dance of the East" in ancient Egypt, it was performed by priestesses whose objective was spiritual development.
Nowadays it is known as Belly Dance, and brings to the modern woman the possibility of re-encountering her deepest connection with the essence of feminility, through the arquetype of the Goddess.
Amongst veils, incense and magic, the belly captures energy from the Sun, and the woman is divided in three: Body, Spirit, and Serpent!
It is ideal for children and teenagers, as it brings a new type of information, where the female gender is valued and respected, where the ideal woman is smooth, round, strong but delicate. Through ancestral dances we become aware that beauty comes from within, from the content which the body encloses. Of course we want a beautiful body and the dance gives strong and balanced muscles, but always allied to self-esteem and self-value.
ENERGETIC LEVEL - Balances the chakras, which are centers that distribute vital energy, making this energy flow freely through the meridians, bringing cure and joy.
SPIRITUAL LEVEL - As it is a sacred dance, with origins in the cycles of Nature, belly dance can send us to the arquetypical memories of connection with the Universe. Through the re-encounter with the feminine strength, with the inner Goddess, we free ourselves of the need of being always nourished by what others can give us. Stimulating our capacity to generate, we feed off joy and happiness, and through this loving center we live better with everyone.
PHYSICAL LEVEL - Relaxes and stretches the muscles of the neck and shoulders, freeing tensions and allowing larger flow of blood and energy to the brain. The brain cell connections are stimulated by the sound of the drumms, which leads to the creation of endorphines, generating pleasure and rejuvenescence. It strengthens the muscles of the spine, enhancing posture, strengthens the belly and genital muscles.
